Tarascon

A castle on the banks of the Rhône

Made famous by one of writer Alphonse Daudet’s characters, Tarascon flaunts a beautiful castle on the banks of the Rhone. This massive early-15th century building, where King René d’Anjou stayed, has been very well preserved since the Middle Ages. Not to forget the the St. Martha collegiate church which attracts pilgrims every year.
